SP and RWTH to co-establish Industrial 4.0 Center

Shunde Polytechnic (SP) and RWTH Aachen University signed an agreement to co-establish an on-campus(SP) Guangdong - Aachen Industrial 4.0 Application Research Center during the Hanover Industrial Fair in Germany on April 24.

 

President Xia Wei of SP and Professor Robert H. Schimitt from RWTH signed the agreement as the representatives of the two institutions in a meeting hall of the conference center in Hanover. Mr. Ou Bangmin, the CPC chief of Shunde government and CPC chief of Shunde Polytechnic, attended the meeting and witnessed the signing ceremony as the top official of Shunde government.

 

After the signing ceremony, President Xia Wei and Mr. Frank Leiston, the official on behalf of the mayor of Aachen, attended a press briefing on the "Guangdong - Aachen Industrial 4.0 Application Research Center" cooperation project.

 

SP Vice President Chen Susong and Mr. Björm Falk of RWTH signed the contract about the co-establishment of the center as the heads of project managing teams in the Hannover Robot Academy in the morning of April 25. A showcasing section with a theme of "Discovering Shunde, Envisioning the World" was also held during the contract signing ceremony.

 

The successful signing of the agreement marks a milestone of the higher vocational education in Shunde and will bring new opportunities for the industrial upgrading with industrial 4.0 technology applications for Shunde, and even for the whole Pearl River Delta in Guangdong.
