Industrial Design (Product Modeling)
【TRAINING OBJECTIVES】 This major aims to cultivate talents with good qualities and technical skills, who are to take up the industrial design (product modelling) or related works, in household appliance enterprises or professional design companies. The students are honest, collaborative, hard-working, dedicated and ethical. They have vocational skills including design expression and product modelling, and they have the ability to adapt and learn.
【MAJOR CHARACTERISTIC】The major gains financial and resource support from Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance to improve the quality of higher vocational colleges. Students have won over 120 awards in all kinds of industrial design competitions, including gold, silver and bronze medals.
The professional teachers possess many years of working experience in first-tier enterprises. They have pragmatic industrial design educational ideas as well as effective methods. Taking full advantage of the powerful resources of household appliance manufacturing industry in the region, the major set up a series of teaching programs, such as the task-driven design ability training course based on the enterprises design competition, a project oriented teacher-student design studio work on a true project of household appliance product design and a training room named Industrial Design Innovation Factory that is under construction. It has formed a teaching course mode and a practical teaching system on industrial design talent training built by college and enterprise. It supports the transformation of middle and small-sized manufacturing enterprises by providing industrial design talents and training advanced industrial design talents who have the design consciousness of user-centered and the executive ability of design. Most of the graduates have become the design director, design manager, design supervisor, senior designer or other hard cores in the Pearl River Delta design enterprises.
