On 9 June, School of Energy and Automotive Engineering held an international online training on refrigeration and air-conditioning techniques for trainees from MS Refrigeration Training Centre in Laos.

Online conference between SDPT and Laos MS Training Center

The conference was attended by Wantha, representative from Education Department of Luang Namtha Province, Mitsamphanh, head of the MS Laos Training Center, dean and faculty from SDPT School of Energy and Automotive Engineering, director and faculty from the SDPT Administrative Office.

Prof. Xiao Wenping, dean of School of Energy and Automotive Engineering introduced SDPT’s achievement in school-enterprise cooperation and integration of industry and education. He also shared a successful cooperative program between refrigeration and air-conditioning technology major and Midea Group in the training of technicians from countries along the "Belt and Road".

Mitsamphanh introduced the development of the air-conditioning industry in Laos and the history of the MS Training Centre. He said that Chinese air-conditioning technology has made a great contribution to the economic development of Laos. He hoped that the cooperation between MS Centre and SDPT would help to improve local air conditioning industry.

Prof. Yin Shaoyou delivered training lecture

Later, Professor Yin Shaoyou delivered training lecture Welding Technology for Air Conditioning Pipelines. Attended trainees included electrification professional teachers, electric welding technician and students from MS Training Center, in total 33 people.

During the lecture, Prof. Yin explained air conditioning gas welding equipment, welding operation methods, welding techniques, low silver brazing of purple copper tubes and copper brazing of purple copper tubes. The whole training was interesting and easy to understand, which greatly aroused the interest of trainees. After lecture, trainees asked for advice on technical details and expressed their appreciation on this high-quality VET lecture and technical standards.

The MS Training Center is authorized by the Department of Education of Luang Namtha Province, and is located in Luang Namtha City, Luang Namtha Province. In December 2021, the MS Centre signed a strategic cooperation agreement with SDPT to set up an overseas "Mozi Academy" (Luban Workshop) to jointly develop training for technicians in countries along the "Belt and Road".
