Shunde Polytechnic Held Online Training on New Energy Vehicle Technology for Hong Kong Vocational Training Council

On 17th June, Shunde Polytechnic School of Energy and Automotive Engineering held an online training for 55 trainees from Hong Kong Vocational Training Council on new energy vehicle technology.

Ye Suibang, director of Pro-Act Training and Development Centre, Xian Zhaoming, director of Apprenticeship and International Exchange and Study Department, Chen Shixin, director of Apprenticeship and International Exchange and Study Department, Li Juer, director of Apprenticeship Service Department and trainees from Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, New World First Bus Services Company, BMW (Hong Kong), dean and faculty from SDPT School of Energy and Automotive Engineering, director and faculty from the SDPT Academic Affair Department and Administrative Office.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Zhang Lirong from SDPT introduced college history, international cooperation, school- enterprise cooperation, industry-education integration and “Belt and Road”technical personnel international training. Chen Shixi introduced Hong Kong's apprenticeship model and practical training facilities at Pro-Act Training and Development Centre. She expressed the hope to strengthen communication and cooperation, and jointly built the Guang Dong- Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area Vocational Education Communication Platform.

Later, Prof. Hou Wensheng delivered training lecture Overview of Automotive Technology Development in Mainland China and explained the China automotive R&D, testing and maintenance technology and prospects for the development of new energy vehicle technology and market.

Then, Prof. Huang Chaowen delivered Domestic Power Battery Technology and Industry Development Status lecture and introduced current trend of domestic power battery development, progress of power battery technology and prospects of new power battery technology.

The whole training was interesting and easy to understand, which greatly aroused the interest of trainees. 


In the end, 55 students from SDPT new energy vehicle major and apprentices from the Hong Kong VTC exchanged views on campus life, studies and other related topics, and all expressed their expectation of strengthening academic communication.

Established in 1982, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) is the largest vocational and professional education and training provider in Hong Kong. VTC provides valuable credentials for some 200,000 students each year through a full range of pre-employment and in-service programmes with internationally recognised qualifications. Since 2012, VTC has visited SDPT for professional and academic exchanges, and is a strategic partner of SDPT in developing cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
