On 14th July, Shunde Polytechnic School of Intelligent Manufacturing conducted an online meeting with the Hong Kong VTC on industry 4.0 intelligent manufacturing. Mr. Liang Wenhui, head of the Centre of Excellence Training and Development Centre (Electrical Industry) of VTC, Professor. Fu Shanpei, teacher from Centre of Excellence Training and Development Centre (Electrical Industry), Mr. Zhong Yongming, Apprenticeship Officer, Mr. Xian Zhaoming, Apprenticeship Department Senior Project Officer of the International Exchange and Learning Programme, Mr. Chen Shixin, Apprenticeship Department Project Officer of the International Exchange and Learning Programme, and 17 apprentices from VTC Hong Kong Machinery, Lift and Escalator, Automotive Technology and other majors took part in the meeting. The event was attended by Song Yuhong, Dean of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, Wang Hongbo, Vice Dean of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, Yu Zhipeng, Director of Guangdong-Aachen Industry 4.0 Application Research Centre, teachers from Administrative Office and School of Intelligent Manufacturing of SDPT. The main venue of the meeting was located in 11-202, meanwhile practical training bases demonstration were on line.
Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, a statutory institution for vocational education in Hong Kong, is a strategic partner of SDPT, and it provides different levels of quality professional education. During the meeting, Mr. Zhong Yongming introduced the history of HKCTC and the vocational education and apprenticeship system in Hong Kong, describing the various vocational professional training programmes implemented by HKCTC. Dr Fu Shanpei, together with representatives students from VTC, demonstrated mechanical workshop training facilities of the Centre of Excellence in Training and Development, including the pneumatic and hydraulic workshop, machine tool practical workshop, automated production workshop, 3D printing workshop and VR experience workshop, and also conducted a demonstration of the real-life operation of the equipment.
Song Yuhong introduced the development history of SDPT, the overview of the cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the Greater Bay Area, and the professional construction, scientific research and social services of our School of Intelligent Manufacturing. Wang Hongbo and the teachers' representatives demonstrated the experimental training equipment of industrial robotics, hydraulic technology, virtual reality technology, lean dojo, 5G technology and digital twin in the School of Intelligent Manufacturing. Teacher Yu Zhipeng gave a speech entitled "International Cooperation and Social Services of Industry 4.0 Application Research Centre", introducing the background of the cooperation between SDPT and RWTH Aachen University to establish the Guangdong-Aachen Industry 4.0 Application Research Centre, the functional orientation, project progress and future development of the Application Research Centre.
During the meeting, students from school of Intelligent Manufacturing and 17 apprentices from the Hong Kong VTC exchanged views on campus life, studies and other related topics.
