On the morning of October 10, a delegation from Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) visited Shunde Polytechnic and signed a MoU of exchange and cooperation, in which both will establish a regular cooperation mechanism, carry out all-round cooperation in teacher training, scientific research, teacher and student exchange and sharing of high-quality teaching resources.
Professor Lau Kin-tak, President of THEi, Dr Zhang Hao, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Design and Environment of THEi, Wang Jialun, Deputy Director of the Government Office of Shunde District, Lang Zhongwei, Executive Deputy director of Construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Shunde Office, Li Xianxiang, SDPT Secretary of the Party Committee, Gan Muyi, dean of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, and teachers from School of International Studies (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office), School of Medicine and Health, School of Design, School of Business, and School of Cuisine, representatives from Guangdong Rixi Education Technology Co., LTD., Shengshi Huazheng, Guangdong Tongtian Technology Industry Development Co., LTD., Foshan Jingyi Furniture Co., LTD., Guangyi Medical Health Technology Co., LTD., Le Shan Nursing Home and other enteprises attended the meeting.
Mrs. Lang Zhongwei introduced the development history of shunde and manufacturing features, pointed out that Hong Kong also has profound industrial foundation. Shunde government will strongly support the in-depth cooperation between SDPT and THEi.
Mr. Li Xianxiang introduced the achievements of industry-university-research collaboration, internationalization development, and pointed out that Shunde and Hong Kong have a high degree of integration in many fields, hoping to futher cooperate with THEi in curriculum, scientific research, personnel training and other aspects, so as to realize the integrated and coordinated development of industry, academic and research.
Mr. Liu Jiande appreciated the achievements of SDPT, introduced the achievements of Hong Kong vocational education system and the professional construction of THEi, and expressed full confidence in the cooperation with SDPT in the fields of mutual recognition of academic qualification framework, curriculum standards development, integration of industry, academic and research.
Representatives from SDPT, THEi and enterprises held in-depth discussions on mutual recognition, joint training of talents, exchanges between teachers and students and skilled talents and other cooperation areas and reached cooperation intentions. Subsequently, our school signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Hong Kong Institute of Higher Education Technology.
On the same day, THEi delegation visited the Guangdong-Aachen Industry 4.0 Application Research Center, School of Culinary, and school of Design to learn about the operation mode, professional equipment, and industry-education integration training base of SDPT.
THEi The Hong Kong Institute of Technology in Higher Education is a member of the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council and has three secondary colleges offering 20 vocational skills-based bachelor's degree programmes. On June 19 this year, Shunde signed a memorandum of cooperation with THEi to jointly build a new high ground for vocational education talent training in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and enable high-quality development.
