Shunde Polytechnic delegation visited Ethiopia and Rwanda

From October 22 to 26, Professor Chen Yanwu, dean of School of Applied Chemical Technology, visited Ethiopia and Rwanda on behalf of Shunde Polytechnic to attend China-Africa vocational education cooperation meeting, reach cooperation with local vocational colleges, provide technical skills training for local employees, and promote practical cooperation, which contribute to Shunde Polytechnic's efforts to build "The Belt and Road Initiative".


From October 22 to 23, Professor Chen Yanwu attended the 2023 China-Africa Technical and Vocational  Education and Training Cooperation Seminar and China-Ethiopia Vocational College Cooperation Project Seminar in Ethiopia, and signed cooperation framework agreements with three vocational colleges in Ethiopia. Professor Chen Yanwu introduced Shunde Polytechnic on the meeting. After the meeting, H.E.Dr. Teshale Berecha YADESSA, State Minister of Ministry of Labor and Skills of Ethiopia, came to the Shunde Polytechnic’s booth to learn more about the school, and gladly accepted the souvenir, expressing the hope that SDPT will give full play to the demonstration about helping Ethiopia improve the quality of vocational education.



From October 25 to 26, Professor Chen Yanwu participated in an exchange meeting at Rwanda Institute of Technology, introduced the development of Shunde Polytechnic to 8 Rwandan higher vocational colleges, and reached cooperation intentions with 5 colleges on teaching and training.

Professor Chen Yanwu visited the Rwanda Bureau of Standards to hold professional training in the use of new instruments and equipment for coating testing, and promote the two sides to strengthen cooperation in the development of African coating industry standards. 

Professor Chen Yanwu also went to the base of CHINE STAR Construction R&D  Group Co., Ltd. in Rwanda to conduct technical skills training for local employees. The African Coatings Research Institute and African Vocational Training Center co-set up by Shunde Polytechnic.
