From April 23rd to 24th, about 32 teachers and students from the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) visited Shunde Polytechnic to launch a two-day "Digital Twin, Digital Exploration and Innovation Shunde Study Exchange Activity". The purpose of this event is to deepen academic exchange and practical cooperation between higher vocational education institutions in the field of digital twins, and to enhance the professional competence and innovation ability of teachers and students from both sides.

The launch ceremony of the event was held in Room 407, Guangdong Aachen Industry 4.0 Application Research Center. Ning Shunqing, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Office of the school, delivered an opening speech. He focused on the background of education cooperation in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and deeply elaborated on the key value of inter regional education collaboration in driving digital technology innovation and application. He also expressed sincere welcome and expectation for the arrival of the delegation from the Hong Kong Institute of Professional Education (IVE). Yu Zhipeng, Director of Guangdong Aachen Industry 4.0 Application Research Center, gave a detailed introduction to Shunde Polytechnic's teaching and research achievements in the field of digital twins, as well as the unique positioning and functions of Aachen Center. We look forward to deepening exchanges and seeking common development through this event.

The delegation of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), Huang Shuo hao and Wu Han ze, respectively provided detailed introductions on the mission, achievements, and support for IVE of the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council (VTC). They elaborated on the key role of VTC in promoting the modernization of vocational education in Hong Kong, as well as the characteristics and advantages of IVE in carrying out engineering discipline education under the VTC system, especially in the field of digital twin technology.

Subsequently, the delegation went to Guangdong Aachen Industry 4.0 Application Research Center and visited the Digital Transformation Application Supermarket, on campus demonstration production line, and Midea Digital Transformation Demonstration Hall, experiencing the practical application of digital technology in industrial production.

In the afternoon, a special lecture titled "Principles and Applications of Robot Automatic Trajectory" and "Application of Digital Twin Technology in Smart Factories" was prepared at the event site. The special lecture on "Principles and Applications of Robot Automatic Trajectory" provides a clear and concise analysis of the core principles and application scenarios of robot technology. Through software demonstrations, the operation process and functional characteristics of robot simulation software are demonstrated on site. In the group practice, Hong Kong IVE teachers and students personally experienced the operation of robot simulation software, and improved their understanding of related technologies through practice. The lecture on the application of digital twin technology in smart factories revealed the broad prospects of digital twin technology in the context of Industry 4.0 to the attendees. In addition, a variety of VR interactive activities were set up on site, including Mozi Pavilion VR, enterprise production line (microwave production line) VR, and industrial product disassembly VR, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the application effects of digital twin technology in different scenarios.

The delegation also went to Shunde R&D Center of Guangzhou Saiyi Information Technology Co., Ltd. for on-site inspection, closely observed the practical application demonstration of digital twin technology, and attended a special lecture on "Digital Twin Solutions".

The person in charge of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing stated that this exchange activity not only enhanced the friendly relationship between the Hong Kong Institute of Professional Education (IVE) and our school, but also provided valuable academic exchange and practical experience sharing platforms for both teachers and students through diversified visits, lectures, practices, and interactions. Looking ahead to the future, both sides will continue to uphold the spirit of open cooperation, jointly promote the innovative application of digital twin technology and talent cultivation in higher vocational education, and contribute to the construction of a global industrial ecosystem of intelligent interconnection.
