From October 18 to 21, the International Finals of the China Branch of the 2024 BRICS Vocational Skills Competition (BRICS Future Skills and Technology Challenge) Industrial Robot Digital Twin Technology Application Competition was held in Liaoning Mechanical and Electrical Vocational Technical College, with more than 240 players from 60 teams at home and abroad competing on stage. After fierce competition, Peng Yingzhong and Hu Honghui, industrial robot students under the guidance of teachers Wan Xiang and Luo Jiancheng from Intelligent Manufacturing College of our school, won the third prize.
The event is co-organized by the Russian Agency for the Development of Skills (Worldskills Russia), the Russian Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the BRICS Business Council, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, with the aim of promoting professional skills and innovation in the field of industrial robotics through international cooperation. The competition is strongly supported by the Chinese Working Group on Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation of the BRICS Business Council, the Belt and Road Initiative and the BRICS International Alliance on Skills Development, and the Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education. The core content of the competition project is to comprehensively assess the professional skills of the participants in the installation, programming and virtual simulation and debugging of industrial robot systems. The competition pays special attention to evaluating the performance of participants in professional qualities such as teamwork, quality management and safety awareness, and provides a stage for professionals in related fields to show their skills and exchange ideas.
