From August 25th to 29th, our university jointly organized the Shunde Polytechnic University "Lingnan Craftsman Academy" International Faculty Training Program with the University of Macau's Centre for Continuing Education. This five-day program was attended by nine core faculty members, aiming to enhance our faculty's international teaching competencies and improve the university's international management and research capabilities. It also laid a solid foundation for developing international initiatives such as overseas technical personnel training, significantly advancing educational cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, while contributing to the implementation of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The training sessions were conducted on the University of Macau campus and led by its senior professors and subject matter experts. The five-day program offered rich and intensive content covering international talent cultivation, globalized pedagogical approaches, teaching methodology enhancement, international student organization and management, as well as innovation in science and technology R&D systems and development exchanges. Throughout the training, teachers actively engaged in classroom discussions and practical operations, holding in-depth interactive communication with the instructors. Many teachers reported substantial gains and acquired fresh perspectives on internationalized teaching philosophies and methods.
The training program also featured on-site exchange sessions, during which participants visited the University of Macau’s State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, the national-level maker space (Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre), and the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City. These visits enabled delegates to gain in-depth understanding of internationalized educational achievements and advanced management models. Through these practical activities, participants not only broadened their global perspectives but also profoundly recognized the critical significance of internationalized education in enhancing institutional competitiveness and talent cultivation quality. All attendees expressed their commitment to applying these insights to future teaching and administrative work, proactively exploring new approaches and methodologies for international education, thereby contributing their expertise to institutional development and educational collaboration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
