Recently, good news came from Como, Italy that Dr. Yang Chujun, Associate Professor of the School of Design at our university, has been officially appointed as a member of the Global Jury Committee of the A' Design Award & Competition.
This honor not only represents the high recognition of Associate Professor Yang Chujun’s professional and academic expertise from the international design community, but also highlights that our university’s international influence in the design field is accelerating.


Italy’s A’ Design Award is one of the world’s leading annual international design competitions, widely recognized as the “Oscar of the European design industry”.The award is endorsed by authoritative organizations including the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (ICOGRADA) and the Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA).The selection criteria for jury membership are extremely rigorous: invitations are extended only to scholars or industry leaders with outstanding contributions in the global design field.Associate Professor Yang Chujun’s invitation means that she will represent the Chinese academic community, joining top experts from around the world to conduct professional reviews and evaluations of design entries from more than 100 countries and hundreds of disciplines.Associate Professor Yang Chujun has long been engaged in serious games, medical interactive product development, and exhibition art design. Her research experience includes a visiting research stint at the Faculty of Pharmacy, the University of Sydney, as well as frontline teaching and research at Shunde Polytechnic University.
Recently, she led the research and development of projects such as the Hand Rehabilitation Training Ball for Stroke Patients, which has attracted wide attention in the industry for its human-centered interaction logic and technological innovation in medical devices.It is precisely this profound foundation of interdisciplinarity and internationalization that has enabled her to stand out from numerous international candidates.

Associate Professor Yang Chujun stated: “Serving as a judge in this top international design competition is not only about selecting outstanding designs, but also about presenting to the world Chinese designers’ in-depth thinking on medical health and interactive design. In the future, I will also use this platform to introduce more cutting-edge international design concepts and resources to our university.”This appointment represents an important achievement of the university’s strategy for the international development of high-level talents. Taking this opportunity, the university will further align its design disciplines with international standards, encourage more faculty to step onto the global stage, voice China’s perspectives, and share the wisdom of Shunde Polytechnic University.
